DIGGA SOUTHERN NATIONALS DRAG RACING THUNDERS INTO CHRISTCHURCH SATURDAY 10 JANUARY. The Digga Southern Nationals; third round of the New Zealand Drag Racing Association prestigious National Championship thunders into Christchurch on Saturday the 10th of January. This is the South Islands premier Drag Racing meeting of the season and will feature competitors from throughout New Zealand. Gates open at Powerbuilt International Dragway, Ruapuna Park, Hasketts Road, Templeton, Christchurch at 8.00am on Saturday the 10th of January with the action on the track starting at 10.00 am; admission is $20 per person, $80 per carload and children under 12 are free. . and on the day, contestants must be over 18 years of age. Summer holidays are in full swing, the actions going to be the hottest yet with all the NZDRA National Classes including, Castrol EDGE Top Alcohol Dragsters, Top Doorslammers, Bikes, Street Cars, V8’s, Imports and Junior Dragsters chasing National Championship Points.

A fuel injected supercharged 540 cubic inch all alloy MBR Hemi engine with billet heads provides the thundering earth shaking power, delivered to the track via a Lenco three-speed transmission and Strange Top Loader rear end running a 4.3 to 1 ratio. Dual parachutes assist with braking. Best ET to date: 5.98 seconds 235mph / 377 kmh.
