NZDRA Mission Statement

NZDRA's mission is to exceed the expectations of its members, competitors, volunteers, member tracks and corporate partners while developing a safe, sustainable and entertaining sport.

NZDRA will provide the governance and services to grow and develop the sport of Drag Racing into New Zealands number one motorsport entertainment.

This mission should ensure that NZDRA Drag Racing becomes a respected organisation in New Zealand while enhancing the involvement of all participants.

The sport of Drag Racing, i.e. the pairing of two vehicles against one another in a race from a standstill start through a straightway course, in New Zealand is under the control of The New Zealand Drag Racing Association Incorporated (NZDRA). This Association was established in November 1993, to be the controlling authority for Drag Racing in New Zealand. The purpose of NZDRA is to be "an organization to represent, control and coordinate the sport of Drag Racing in New Zealand". This delegation authority was first granted by Motorsport New Zealand in 1993 with approval of the FIA. The NZDRA constitution can be found on the NZ web site & the Incorporated society web site.

NZDRA is a member of the FIA Drag Racing Commission, the SFI Foundation (US) and alliances with NHRA and ANDRA.

Members Update 2014

Rule Submissions

Members are reminded (and encouraged!) to have any rules submissions in to your Driver's Rep by the 1st of Feb. It will help if you have already consulted with members in your class. It is suggested a petition-style form is used, and signatures for or against obtained. This will assist the Driver's Rep with the submission. Please contact your Driver's Rep or Paul Jacobs (contact details under NZDRA Executive) with any questions you may have with this process.
