TRUST HOUSE CENTRAL NATIONALS DRAG RACING INVADES MASTERTON.
The Trust House Central Nationals; fourth round of the New Zealand Drag Racing Association prestigious National Championship scorches into Masterton on the 31st of January/2nd February. The Championship is really getting hot in some divisions and to not keep the pressure on now would mean certain defeat. With all the NZDRA National Classes including, Castrol EDGE Top Alcohol Dragsters, Top Doorslammers, Imports and Junior Dragsters chasing National Championship Points this will be one round not to be missed.
Trust House began in 1947 when the Masterton Licensing Trust was formed. The concept of licensing trusts was based upon community ownership. In effect the sale of liquor in a particular area was to be controlled by the people of the community through elected representatives. One of the most endearing features of the concept was that profits from the sale of liquor would first of all go back into providing excellent facilities, and secondly be returned to the community by way of community support for community projects.
With this support the Masterton and surrounding areas get to see some great Drag Racing action while helping the community by insuring tracks like the Motorplex can provide a safe off road venue for youths to let loose and also to entertain thousands of people who have come to experience Drag Racing first hand.

With Top Alcohol racers Chris Johnston and Ray Peterson in the Harcourt's machine now in the lead for the Castrol Top Alcohol Championship the Todd Vincent Dragster team and second equal competitor Morice McMillin in the Scrap Palace T/A Funny Car are chasing hard to close the gap.

Top Doorslammer at the moment is a two horse race between Ross Taylor in the Taylor and Taylor 57 Chev and Chris Tynan's Scrap Palace 55 Chev, with the Championship lead swapping at every round, the last going Taylor's way, Tynan will be hot on getting his turn in the winners circle at the Motorplex, unfortunately for these two but fortunately for the fans will be Wayne Hussey in his Super 67 Nova. Wayne who has been struggling with a nitrous delivery problem has had the car re-plumbed and is hoping to pick up the three hundred horsepower missing that's needed to kick some blown butt. Helping him will be the Dave West 58 Chev entry also running a 10.3 litre nitrous injected all of which is needed to move the big car to low 7 second times well over 300kph. The Top Street division is not only tuff racing but close, as the top four after the Kumu Classic car round at Taupo were all within 17 points of the leader that's just one round! Gary Bogaart, Graeme Bates and Roger Binnema  will be giving there all at the Trust House Central Nationals on the 31st January -1st February, Racing starts 10am both days. $20 per day under 14's free. Hood Aerodrome Masterton.
