A good turnout of racers arrived at the Street Rodders event Sunday morning with some 45 Street cars getting plenty of runs down the smooth Tokoroa surface. Although racing was not really held up by the weather there was a light shower or two that stopped the prepped surface from getting any heat and giving anywhere near its best for the 10 or so competition vehicles who had faith this event would deliver a good fun day out. A 8.6 second pass from the Sattler teams FE Dragster showed the potential and given the right amount of sunshine on the flat surface would make it better than most drag strips in the whole country.

With a good turnout of Bikes, both competition and street, a sprinkling of junior dragsters and a simple race format all had a great time and are looking forward to the February NZDRA divisional meeting, and from the positive comments from those in attendance at this meet it’s sure to be a great event too.
