100_0800_mark_thomasThe NZ Nationals has always been the event to attend, the one event every racer tries to get to even if it’s the last event of the season. Why does this event have that pull? Is it the history? 42 years of tradition can make it hard to stay away. Is it the vast number of competitors trying to win the one event that may make up for a bad season? In recent years I think it has more to do with the fact this is also the final chance to secure the last remaining points available to become the New Zealand Champion.

With the closest points race in the history of the championship the Century Yuasa Power Series events have what it takes to produce the best drag racing action in the country and the four other national events this season have produced the best spectator attendances of any competition events for some time, proving in these tuff finacial times fans will come if the event is worthy of their hard earned dollars.

Nowhere can you see more smoke than guy fowks, more sideways action than drifting, more wheel stands than a super bike race and more speed than a formula 1 car and you don’t have to eat dirt to enjoy it!
