Century Batteries Nationals Fram Autolite Dragway Saturday 28th February and Sunday 1st March 2009 The team at Fram Autolite Dragway is hard at work getting everything ready for the biggest weekend of drag racing on their calendar for the weekend of Saturday 28th February and Sunday 1st March 2009. The event will feature all of New Zealand’s fastest and most powerful vehicles in each of the fourteen racing divisions. Fram Autolite Dragway spokesperson, Scott Campbell, “This is our turn to host a round of the National Series and it has the added bonus of also being the Grand Final of the NZDRA National Series. Racers from all over the country will be pushing their machines to the limit to try and become the series Champion. The two premier divisions which are the Dragsters and Funny Cars in Castrol Top Alcohol and the full-bodied Top Doorslammers will provide plenty of action but to really add some extra excitement we also have Willie White in his Nitro-powered Funny Car from Hastings” says Campbell. Saturday is compulsory qualifying for all vehicles with the track open between 11.00am and 5pm while Sunday between 9.00am and 5pm is race day. There is a heap to do for all the family, great spectator viewing including a fly over by a P51 Mustang War Bird, good food, free children’s entertainment and plenty of parking. Children 12 and under are free Free Parking Fram Autolite Dragway – State Highway 1, Meremere.
