The NZDRA Championship is over and Castrol Edge Top Alcohol winner Mark Vincent has made it three in a row! The only other competitor to achieve that milestone is Modified Bike racer Richard Ramsay whom again did the rounds and averaged some good placing's at all the championship meets. Congratulation also to all those other competitors that have secured the championship as it is about hard work, doing the hard yards to get to the meetings and having fun along the way.

What events are there to do now the championship is over? The Nostalgia Drags @ Fram Autolite Dragway is coming up incorporating the Hot Rod Mag Club Champs; this event is hosted by Bay Rodders. The club champs will be run on the 5th April (Saturday) with the Phantom Performance Speed Shop Nostalgias on the Sunday. Contact Deano 0274 992947 or Graham on 0274 755360 for more details.

Pegasus Bay Drag Racers have there Last Blast competition meet for the season on 6th of April which will determine their track point's series. For details go to www.pegasusbaydrags.co.nz .

Rotary Promotions have the Rotary only day on the 13th of April so if you lean toward that type of engine like pretty girls or just have nothing better to do head to Fram Autolite for the day.

The New Zealand Motor Show is on from the 16th April until the 19th and NZDRA have a stand in the show promoting our sport, if anyone is interested in manning the stand for a day or two please contact me on 07 846 4001 (to give the people we have a break).

The Motor Show is running on the Friday and Saturday of the V8 Super car race but is over on the Saturday allowing everyone Sunday to watch the V8's race around the streets of Hamilton. NZDRA also have four cars doing burnout displays throughout that three day event, further promoting the sport to the expected 160,000 people attending over the event.

Wheels Inc are holding the first Mopar Nationals on the 26th April at Fram Autolite Dragway of what is expected to be an annual event. As the name implies Chrysler vehicles only will be at this event and so it should be Mopar heaven with some of New Zealand best Challengers, Chargers, Darts, Valiant and Chrysler products. Taupo's Top Fuel Enterprises have an event on the 27th of April with an 8 car Top Alcohol field out to prove they are the fastest in the land and with that Dragster 5 second pass right there and three cars able to do it, the race to become the first 5 is on. All other classes will be catered for so make your way to Taupo for the last blast in the north. Contact Steve Zaharodny for details 0274 751648.
