CENTURY BATTERIES FULLY CHARGED NATIONAL FINAL.
Thursday, 09 October 2008

Century Batteries has secured the Naming Rights for the prestigious Final Round of the New Zealand Drag Racing National Championship. The Century Batteries National Championship Final will be held over two days with qualifying on Saturday 28 February and the championship decider on Sunday 1 March at Fram Autolite Dragway, Meremere, halfway between Auckland and Hamilton. “Century Batteries has had a long and successful association with Drag Racing in New Zealand, from a marketing perspective to align our high performance battery products with a high performance motor sport is fantastic. We are extremely please to be able to secure the naming rights to the New Zealand Drag Racing Associations National Championship Final,” said Gerard Wade, Century Yuasa Batteries (NZ) Ltd National Major Account and Marketing Manager.  Despite seemly endless rain this winter, Fram Autolite Dragway has received a major facelift with a newly installed fully concreted boulevard complete with statuesque palm trees. The new boulevard extends from Dragway road up to the main gates and has been completed in time for the new season by B&T and Manurewa Earthmovers, Consent Construction and Allied Concrete who triumphed over the at times impossible conditions to achieve a stunning new look for Fram Autolite Dragway. “The team at Fram Autolite Dragway are totally committed to ensuring that the Century Batteries National Final is New Zealand’s largest and most prestigious drag racing event of the year. A restructuring of the New Zealand Drag Racing Association National Championship to assist teams with logistics has resulted in the Fram Autolite Dragway hosting both the first and the final rounds, something we are extremely excited about,” said Wendy Campbell, Operations Manager, Fram Autolite Dragway. The New Zealand Drag Racing Association National Championship starts at Fram Autolite Dragway on Saturday 6 December.  For furtherinformation and images contact: Stuart Roberts, Marketing Manager, New Zealand Drag Racing Association, tel: 09 482 5481, e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it  .
