FULL THROTTLE SHOW @ MANUKAU CITY
Tuesday, 26 October 2010

The Full Throttle Motorsport event, held at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre in Manukau over Labour Weekend, was a great success. The NZDRA would like to thank Morice McMillin, John Neilan and Mark Thomas, Alan and Violet Thoresen and Terry Bowden and Rod and Natalie Harvey, for supplying their vehicles to be exhibited on the NZDRA stand at this Event. There was much interest shown in these cars and the coming events of the season, which supports the fact that drag racing in New Zealand is moving ahead and with this type of exposure, sponsors such as LG, Castrol, Rayglass and Fuchs will continue to support the sport.

NZDRA ANNOUNCE NATIONAL EVENTS
Thursday, 23 September 2010

NZDRA are pleased to announce Fram Autolite Dragway will be the place to be on the 6th of February 2011 for the Northern Nationals and 6 weeks later the most established event in the drag racing calendar, the New Zealand Nationals. This event of course, encompasses the Championship Series Finals and with limited opportunities to accumulate points, should see some hot competition.

NZDRA, after months of negotiations, has secured these two National Events and are working on a third to ensure that top level drag racing again hits the Tracks for the 2011 season.

“It has taken a lot of work to get to this point,” says CEO Chris Tynan “but with the current economic climate and one of our key Tracks still unsure at this point whether they may be able to hold any events, we are trying to do what is best for our racers and the sport.”

Within the next few days NZDRA hope to finalise the third National Series Round and lock in two Divisional Meetings, this giving Group Two, Three and Four racers a total of five Rounds in which to contest the NZ Championship, along with a workable TV presentation for the three National Events.
